FUND RAISING – generate fund raising ideas
to be presented to the Board for approval. Responsible
for obtaining workers, overseeing the completion of
each project, presenting end of project summary, and
submitting receipts and profits to treasurer or
financial secretary.
Meets monthly.
CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT – design and produce
brochure for Board approval, bulk mailing, follow-up
phone calls, in-person presentations, thank you notes,
submit receipts and donations to treasurer or
financial secretary, submit appropriate information to
publicity chair. Meets monthly.
UNIFORMS – check uniforms for repairs on
first day of band camp and periodically throughout the
year, fit students during band camp, organize closet,
distribute uniforms and oversee re-hanging for home
games, assist with dry cleaning approximately 6 times
per year. Meets as needed.
SEWING – Assist uniform committee with
uniform repair, sew flags for dance team, sew
costumes, etc. Meets
as needed.
BANQUET
- responsible
for choosing theme, decorations, food (caterer),
ticket sales, and obtaining set-up
and clean-up crews, submit receipts and profits to
treasurer or financial secretary, present end of project summary.
Meets January through May.
SOCIAL
– responsible for planning refreshments and
entertainment for every general meeting, sending notes
(thank you, sympathy, etc.), organizing special
events, such as congratulations cake after
competitions and family picnics, obtaining food
donations and clean-up/set-up workers, staff gifts,
record keeping and end of year summary.
Meets monthly.
WEBSITE
– responsible for encouraging students to contribute
articles for submission, collecting articles and
editing, submitting band updates for posting.
PUBLICITY
– responsible for generating media coverage for all
pre and post events, such as competitions and fund
raisers for band, dance and percussion, painting,
setting up and taking down the sign in the median,
placing information on the school marquee, keeping a
scrapbook and end of the year summary.

TELEPHONE/EMAIL
– responsible for calling and emailing parents and
students as needed to remind them of meetings,
schedule changes, chaperone and concession duties,
record keeping and end of year summary.
Meets as needed.
MENTORING
– responsible for contacting freshman parents and new student
parents. Serves as guide through the first year of the band
program.
CHAPERONES
– responsible for providing for
the needs (water, first aid) of the band students during football
games and overseeing them.
